Sweater Weather
As the weather gets colder, I always think about sweaters! As much as I enjoy the summertime, sweater weather is better weather, because it makes it easier to roll out of bed and get ready for the day. When you have the perfect sweater, you’ll be comfy and stylish with minimal effort! But it can be a struggle to find the one.
Lately my struggle has been the price! I will find a sweater that I think looks effortless and has just a tinge of ugliness, just enough that it looks personalized. I start imagining outfits I could make with this statement piece sweater. Then I notice the price tag is way out of my budget, and I realize I could probably find a similar sweater in someone’s grandparents’ closet. So the hunt continues for a reasonably priced sweater perfect for the season.
Necklines can be hard, too. If your sweater is falling off your shoulders, it’s not going to be as warm. If your sweater is too tight around the neck, it’s uncomfortable. The perfect sweater has room for a shirt underneath for additional warmth and style! In winter, you know you’ll have more than one layer under the sweater, unless it’s a super thick wooly one.
Personally, I prefer a sweater with long sleeves, because I am always cold, especially my hands. And if the sweater itself is long, then it’s even warmer! But sometimes you can look a little ridiculous if the sweater is too big. But it’s definitely cozy if you’re going for function over form! For a more polished look, though, a fitted sweater is better. And if you can find one with a pocket for holding a delicious chocolate treat… well that’s even better!
Despite all of my criteria for the perfect sweater, I already own a ton of them. I’m ready and excited to flex my cold weather wardrobe muscles! That being said, I’m okay with the weather staying warm for a little while longer. I’m not a big fan of winter coat weather!
