Summer Vacation Plans

With it already being the middle of April, summer vacation is really around the corner. For the kids, school will be over so soon. For us, even though there’s still work, it’s much more slow-paced and relaxed. And, everyone gets to enjoy a few long weekends, some nice weather, and some random days off here and there!

Many families like to go on vacation during the summer. It’s really a perfect time to go, because the kids will not be missing any school, and usually things are slower at work. Plus, your boss will be more understanding about granting vacation days, because they know that everyone wants to vacation in the summer (and they like to also)!

The downside to vacationing in the summer is that everyone else is also on vacation—meaning things are busy, prices are more expensive, and you have to book and plan everything pretty early, in order not to miss out!

I know that for my summer vacation I always start planning in early April. Hotels book up fast and I’d rather get lower prices for rooms, which you can often get when you book this early! It’s crazy to think that I’m already planning for something in the end of August, but I know it’ll be worth it!

Road trips are a very common family summer vacation. We have often done road trips to different places in the past. The last couple of years we haven’t, and we decided that we missed it and that we’d try it again this year! It took not going for a few years to realize just how much we had to plan out. This year we decided to take a road trip to Orlando and go to Disney world. Not only do we have to book our Disney World rooms now, but we have to book any reservations for dinners, specials breakfasts, and park hopper passes! On top of it, we have to book the hotels that we’ll be staying in on the way and on the way home. It’s a 25 hour drive so we’ll need somewhere to stop on the way!
