Let the Cooking Begin!
It’s a new year and one of my new year’s resolutions is to start expanding my cooking expertise to the different cuisines around the world. This is definitely not going to be an easy resolution to keep. I think it’ll be awesome! Let the cooking begin! It’s important to know what different cultures around the world eat, and it will be good to get the kids used to trying new foods. Plus, my husband is probably starting to get sick of the same old things. What a great way to start fresh! We’ll be trying new things, and getting out of a rut! And not only am I interested in cooking but let’s not forget all the baking I’m going to be doing!
I don’t mean to brag but any of my close friends and family would label me as the amazing cook! From my past cooking knowledge, I myself must admit I am quite the master chef in the oriental cuisine. I love the flavours and the variety of foods in this specific cuisine. Pho, curries, noodles, rice, sushi, Dim Sum, mussels and all of the above! Everyone loves being invited over to my house to get to try some of these. But, it’s time to change it up before we all get tired of it.
I have been dying to dive into the cuisines from Spain and Mexico. I have always categorized these two cuisines to be quite similar. It may be because of the shared common language between the countries; Spanish. But, I heard that some of their foods are quite different. There’s the Tapas to the Paella in Spain while Mexico has their delicious chilli and burritos! It makes me want to start right now. My mouth is watering thinking of all the spices and flavours.
Believe it or not, I have not explored Italian food. Well, I have made my occasional pastas. However, there’s the American way of making the Italian food but if you want to eat Italian food, you’ve gotta make it the Italian way. Most of the time when I travel, I just want to explore the amazing food that the country can offer. They are also known for all their cheeses! So if I am able to master the Italian cuisine, it is close to being able to travel to Italy. Or maybe I should travel to Italy… but strictly to gain insight on authentic Italian cooking of course ;)!
I am SUPER excited!! Who’s coming to my house to finish all this food with me??
