Busy Mom’s Guide to Getting out of the House on Time!!!!
Getting yourself ready and organized in the morning is a task in itself. Try throwing in a couple of little bodies into the mix, that need to be dressed, fed breakfast, sent with lunch, school books and supplies. Whether you have 1 kid or 5 kids, figuring out what and how much time you need to get all of your morning tasks done, is essential to getting out of the house prepared and on time. I’m going to share some awesome pointers that will guarantee to save time in the morning!
Number #1 PREPARE THE NIGHT BEFORE!
Making lunches that are nutritious and balanced takes time and care! Packing the food into lunch bags and into the fridge makes it easy to throw quickly into a back pack in the morning. Pack some lunch for yourself too. Its cost efficient and healthier, your pockets and waistline will thank you later. Check the kid’s bags to make sure homework and books are put away. Giving the kids a bath and laying out their clothes makes eliminates the 2 most time consuming tasks the night before.
Number #2 WAKE UP BEFORE YOUR KIDS
It’s up to you to decide how much time you need to get polished for work. You can get far more accomplished when you can hear yourself think. Getting yourself ready while its quiet, gives you time to organize your thoughts and go over what you need to pack before you leave the house.
Number #3 DRESS THE KIDS WHILE THEY’RE SLEEPING
This pointer is obviously geared towards smaller children, dressing a sleeping 13 year old would probably be a little difficult and awkward to say the least. You get some extra quite time and it minimizes the back and forth about why your son cannot go to school dressed up as Batman.
Number #4 MULTITASK
No this doesn’t mean frying an omelet and putting your daughter’s hair into a ponytail at the same time. Instead, have 2 or 3 tasks going at the same time. For example have the kids eat breakfast while you’re getting ready and placing things like backpacks, jackets and shoes near the door.
A new morning routine takes some time getting adjusted to. A few late and chaotic morning will happen, such as life. Tweaking your routine to fit your family best, will ultimately ensure a smooth and successful.
