Grey’s Anatomy Season Finale!
Spoiler Alert: If you have not watched the final episode of Grey’s Anatomy do not read this! Thanks!
Even if you did not watch the episode when it aired, if you use any form of technology or social media, or even if you just have ears, you probably know that the most recent episode of Grey’s Anatomy caused lots of controversy and drama! And, particularly, a lot of hate for Shonda Rhimes, the writer of Grey’s and many other drama-genre TV shows. Many feel that Derek “McDreamy” Sheppard should not have died the way he did, while others feel terrible grief and sadness for the loss of their favourite character.
Personally, I don’t care exactly how Derek died. I gave up on Grey’s a couple seasons ago, when it just started going downhill and getting out of hand. The problem I have with this show is that they are always killing people off, and doing it in the most horrific ways possible. Derek and Meredith have now gone through a shooting, a plane crash, and now a car crash. I hate to say it, but that’s just too unrealistic. I know shows are fictional, but even fiction has to make sense. I can’t justify the believability of all of these traumatic experiences happening to the same people.
My motto with shows is that once the best main characters start leaving, and you’re running out of things to do with it, stop making it! The same thing happened with Criminal Minds. Criminal Minds used to be my favourite show by far. But then, when they started running out of serial killer stories, they started making it about other types of crimes, and it didn’t even make sense. Now, a show that used to be one of the top crime shows stinks, and it really should have just ended on a high note. The same with Grey’s!
